Dear reader,
Welcome to another issue of The Wordsridge Newsletter! I am coming back after a break, apologies, but I was travelling and hence couldn’t send out July 8th issue. By the way how have you been? I have been lazy lately in sending out this newsletter and doing other things too, but I hope it hasn’t done much harm!
I find that things have been working out more smoothly in this second half of the year, but the heat is too hot to handle. There have been rains but they haven’t cooled the temperature much. But we always need to hope for the better.
Keeping up with the trend, how are you keeping up with the ‘Barbenheimer’ fever? As you know, both movies (Barbie and Oppenheimer) were released on July 21st. Both had that hype prior to their release. I came across this post yesterday on Instagram:
I personally am a fan of Greta Gerwig (who is the director of the Barbie movie) since I watched her amazing movie Little Women (2019). I am looking forward to watch Barbie and the trailer looks intriguing. I, as a kid, loved and played a lot with barbies along with my bestie. So, this movie is special, bringing back all those memories :) Plus, Ryan Gosling (playing the character of Ken in the movie) is one of my favorite actors (since I watched him in The Gray Man). Also, I previously watched Margot Robbie (playing the role of Barbie) in Amsterdam (2022) movie and loved her acting skills. So, every reason to watch Gerwig’s Barbie!
As far as reading and writing life are concerned, I am currently slowly reading The Lamplighters by Emma Stonex. I have written poems and two essays in these last two months, but I really want to be able to write more.
And before we move on to the next sections, I want to share a few ideas with you:
Life is too short to hold grudges. Make up with people whom you have a feud with. Value and cherish relationships.
Never let your emotions cloud your better judgement. No matter what, always do what is morally right.
In the next section I will share a few photographs by novice photographers (me and my brother) from my trip to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India.

A poem remains with us to the extent that it allows us to feel that we are listening to a voice at once contemporary and ancient.

Beware of looking for goals: look for a way of life. Decide how you want to live and then see what you can do to make a living within that way of life.
