Dear reader,
How are you doing? March is ongoing and it is the month of Spring here in India and also my birthday month. So, two reasons to love it! And yes I turned 26 on the 14th and thanks to Allah for making me reach this milestone.
But this year, March is also special for me as a Muslim since the 12th of March marked the beginning of the Islamic month of Ramadan (the Islamic month of fasting). So,
I would like to say Ramadan Mubarak 🌙 to my fellow Muslims!!
Here is a small gift for you— Check out Ramadan kalaam/nazm/anthem 2024

I, being a Muslim, am very grateful to Allah for letting me experience another Ramadan, because the month of Ramadan holds immense significance and is a chance for us Muslims to get numerous blessings and rewards from Allah, is a chance to get our sins erased and to get ourselves pardoned by Allah. It is just for the sake of Allah that we fast from morning to sunset.
And it is not only food that we abstain from, but also, we have to try and abstain from bad deeds, sins, and wrong doings. May this one month of practice of keeping ourselves away from sins help us develop a habit of abstaining from them for the rest of the year.
Although this issue is quite late, but I really want to share a list of things that you can do this Ramadan:
In order to celebrate this month, you can give little gifts to your neighbors, house help, relatives, and friends. The gift could be a box of sweets, chocolates, dates, tasbeeh (string of prayer beads), or something similar. Believe me, it gives you immense happiness when you give something to people.
If you want to get rid of your bad habits, this is the perfect month to achieve this goal. Make a list of habits/sins that you want to give up and remind yourself at the beginning of each day to keep away from them. In this month we practice restrain and self-control, so in the spirit of the month it will be easier to focus and follow this goal.
Similarly, if you want to build any good habits (like regular recitation of Quran, punctual offering of salat/namaz, etc.), this month is a really good opportunity to do so.
This month you can invite friends or relatives to your home for iftar (meal eaten to break the fast). Iftar parties are my favorite! Feeding people is very significant and very rewarding in Islam. This month we Muslims should try to feed poor people for whom it is difficult to arrange food for sehri and iftar.
One good thing that you can do is that you can buy and give clothes to some of the poor people around you to wear on Eid. These people could be your house help, gatekeeper, driver, etc. It will bring a smile to their faces.
Ramadan is a time to reform yourself for the better. So do good deeds, watch good stuff, say good things, and be consistent with it.
Ramadan is also a great time to tidy and decorate your home for your own happiness and for the welcome of guests on iftar parties and Eid. I love both of these tasks :) There are many affordable ways to deck your rooms, and especially the crafty ones can come up with some brilliant ideas. But remember, cleanliness is the key and can make even a simple house look beautiful!
If you suggest any more things to be done in Ramadan, please let me know in the comments.
